My Educational Technology Philosophy
The coupling of technology and education can be a powerful match. For example, video lessons can help differentiate learning by providing students with the opportunity to learn at their own pace and to revisit lessons. It can also be used as as a tool for bilingual education where students can use it to learn another language and computer literacy skills. Technology can also be used to build upon the social curriculum in the classroom and help foster the connection between parents and school. For example, a classroom webpage can keep parents connected to daily classroom activities.
While there are many tools and resources available, as teachers we need to understand and know why we are using specific tools. As a teacher, my hopes for using technology responsibly are based on three goals:

- To create an engaging and strong curriculum for my students where students learn through exploration
- To teach my students valuable technology skills that they can build upon, such as presentation skills using GoAnimate and iMovie
- To continue learning about new technology that can add to my students' learning
